Individual Residential Alternative (IRA) Group Homes

Our Residential Services Program currently operates 18 individual residential alternative (IRA) group homes, for people with developmental disabilities throughout the Bronx, Westchester and Rockland Counties, including homes that serve young adults with autism and those who are medically frail. Our homes are licensed by the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).

Call (914) 997-8000 ext. 156 or email DPryce@cmcs.org to find out more about our IRA Group Homes.

Our residents live semi-independently in family-size groups of 4 to 8, under the 24-hour guidance of trained Direct Support Professionals. Residents are actively involved in the community by holding jobs, volunteering and attending day programs and vocational training. The comprehensive range of services offered is tailored to enable each unique resident to reach his or her true potential. In 2011, we opened a new home for young adults with autism, in partnership with their families. With the opening of this home  we have implemented a new approach to service provision using the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) model.
