Supported Employment

With a grant from the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), our developmental disabilities division has been approved to provide enhanced supportive employment services as part of a pilot across NY State. In 2011 we became certified as a Supported Employment (non-enhanced, non-pilot) provider through OPWDD as well. Click to see our Supported Employment Video

We also continue our supported employment services through a contract with Acces-VR (formerly VESID). Our “Wish to Work” program enables us to provide job training, greater vocational skill building and one-on-one support for several individuals. The job developer works with prospective community employers in order to educate them regarding the benefits of employing a person in supportive employment. The tax credits to employers and the training opportunity for the individuals we support make our “Wish to Work” program invaluable and rewarding for everyone involved.
